There Shall be Showers of Blessing (#172 in previous version) Upon fleeing from the palace, Moses lived in hardship for 40 years after getting married. One day, God came to Moses, who was in hiding, to give him the mission of bringing the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses was baffled by God’s sudden demand, and rejected the Word of God after realizing how pathetic he was. Moses was hindered by his circumstances and thoughts, but he again grasped the Word of God that he had heard 80 years ago through his mother.
1. He held on to the evidence of God
To show Moses evidence of God’s power when he was avoiding the Word of God in unbelief, God turned the staff into a snake, showed him the miracle of leprosy, and saved his life when he was on the verge of death. Moses did not simply hold on to the evidence of God to avoid brief difficulties. Moses took his shoes off before the voice of the Lord. Realizing the covenant of the Gospel, Moses knew that the Gospel was the only thing worthwhile enough to stake his life upon. If you hold on to the covenant from God and obey His Word every moment, evidence will begin to arise in your life.
2. He made a resolution of faith
God wanted Moses to rescue the suffering Israelites. God prepared Moses for 80 years to save the Israelites. The minute Moses resolved in faith to obey the Word of God in the critical moment, an unprecedented and never-to-be-repeated miracle took place. There are times when you cannot properly see the whole picture in the face of hardships. During these times, most people only see their standards rather than the power of God, and make limited decisions. When you are unsure of what to do and your thoughts are a mess, think about Moses. Make the same resolution of faith as Moses, and God will fulfill His plan through you.
- When the situation is frustrating and you cannot seem to find a way out, trust in the plan God has for you. God grants you evidence when you make a resolution of faith. Immanuel Church Sunday Worship 1st Service / 2012.1.1
