Only witness
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes and you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #391 A Wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord (#446 in previous version)
God promised to make us witnesses to the ends of the earth upon receiving power from the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). This Word will be fulfilled until the Lord returns. When we receive the filling of the Holy Spirit, you will stand as a witness who believes that Jesus is the Christ and Savior. As the world becomes increasingly difficult to live in and the end times grow nearer, the world needs witnesses of Christ. Who is an ‘only witness’?
1. Witness of only Gospel
While many religions predict better days as the end nears, the Bible foretells hardships toward the end days. The Bible further explains the cause as man leaving God and that the suffering will only worsen as time wears on. At this time, it states that the only solution to all problems is Jesus Christ. An only witness realizes Jesus Christ is the only name to rescue the world submerged in the forces of darkness, and stands as the witness of the Gospel only. The world will be saved and the answers of world evangelization will begin when we arise as the witnesses of the Gospel.
2. Witness of only prayer
Even when pushed into a corner by problems, you can overcome all things through prayer. ‘Only prayer’ is communicating with God through the enjoyment of the authority of heaven and earth. With the power of prayer answers from God, the forces of darkness will shatter in the fields you enter and the blessing of the kingdom of God will be with you. Restoration of strength and victory in spiritual warfare is granted through prayer.
3. Witness of only the Holy Spirit
The Bible records that you will be a witness of Christ when the Holy Spirit comes on you. God promised the filling of the Holy Spirit to those with salvation. He dwells in those who are saved and guides them to stand as witnesses to the ends of the earth. God called us as witnesses and gave us the power of the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel to the world.
