How can we mutually communicate with God?
Matthew 16:13~20 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. (19)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #94 I’d Rather Have Jesus (#102 in previous version)
There are times when you cannot communicate in words because things you often cannot understand with common sense arise, you cannot get rid of pessimistic thoughts because you experience things that appear unreasonable, and things that are frustrating. At these times, your emotions get caught up in things that are not a big deal, prayer does not take place, and also, you cannot place the Word of God in your heart. God sent Jesus Christ to the world in order to communicate with the world. How can we who have the Gospel have this mutual communication with God through Jesus Christ?
1. Things to throw away for the sake of mutual communication
If you see people who have succeeded, there are a lot of instances when they have an optimistic way of thinking. However, a self-centered heart ultimately hits its limits. You must evaluate the form of your faith if you are not mutually communicating with God in your walk of faith. You must discard your state that hinders you from having mutual communication with Jesus Christ.
2. Mutual communication regarding your confession of faith
There are many people who may want to continually pray and live according to the Word, yet do not know how to apply the Word of God to their lifestyles and what they must do to receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit. When you feel your walk of faith is getting powerless without the knowledge of knowing Jesus Christ, do not fall into despair but try making a sincere confession before God. This is because our citizenship is not in earth but in heaven.
3. The mutual communication that hides me
All people have a nature that reigns over their lifestyles. Even though there are some people who recognize themselves on their own and people who do not, the nature that has taken seat in people as habits unbeknownst to them appears in their lifestyles in various forms. Jesus Christ has struck down all problems and the authority of Satan, sin and curses. As all problems are solved the moment we believe in Him, our lifestyles are shaken by our personal motives and immature judgments, and things go wrong, too. When we lay down our personal natures, and pray that Jesus Christ would be revealed in our lives, mutual communication with God takes place.
- Are you fallen into despair because of your nature in which things do not work out as you wish in your heart? Try having mutual communication with Jesus Christ who won against the forces of darkness. Evangelism Disciple Message 2011.12.27
