Lifelong evangelism goal of the evangelist
Exodus 3:18 The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.’
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #265 Christ, Our Redeemer (#199 in previous version)
Jesus came to this earth as the king who overcame the power of Satan, the priest who solved the problem of sin and curses, and the prophet who became the way for us to meet God. When we grab hold to the fact that Jesus is the solver of all problems as our life’s solution, we will realize the reason why we must preach the Gospel and come to live as evangelists. The evangelists who have found the answer in the Gospel have their life’s evangelism goals and evangelism plans. How can we find our own personal evangelism?
1. Changes, answers, and miracles
Abraham and Jacob realized that the Gospel is the answer to their life after wanderings and hardships. On the other hand Isaac and Joseph held on to the covenant early on and had victory. What is the reason for such discrepancies even though they had the same Gospel? Isaac and Joseph put their thoughts behind and found the evangelism plans that God had given to them when they were young. As a young boy when he was about to face death on the altar, Isaac witnessed a young ram that God had prepared being sacrificed in place of him. With the covenant of blood that he held on to at that time, he found the reason and plan for evangelism. When we grab hold of the truth that Jesus became the Christ as our life’s solution, we will come to discover our lifelong evangelism goals.
2. Moses’ lifelong evangelism goals
When Moses held on to the covenant of the sacrificial offering that had been hidden for long ages past on Mount Horeb, God displayed the miracle of the ten plagues with which He destroyed Egypt and allowed the Israelites to enjoy the amazing mystery of the Gospel through the three feasts (Passover, Pentecost, Feast of Ingathering). God will take full responsibility over our lives and bless us when we discover the works that God intends to do through us and find our evangelism goals.
3. Evangelism goals in our lives
First of all, we must set goals to save lives through the work that we are entrusted with and set goals to save our workplace, region and field. When we continually pray and meditate on God’s Word, we will come to discover the blessings given to believers in a realistic way. God’s children can never perish because the Holy Spirit is with them. No matter how powerful the world is, there is nothing that can stand against the people who are filled with the Holy Spirit. We must stride toward evangelism goals as we enjoy the status and authority given to children of God.
