The budding of Aaron’s staff
Numbers 17:1~7 “The staff belonging to the man I choose will sprout, and I will rid myself of this constant grumbling against you by the Israelites.” (5)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #308 Savior, More than Life to Me (#424 in previous version)
In Numbers 15~16, 14,700 people die even after giving sacrificial offerings to God. Even in our life of faith, we face crises and sufferings that seem to serve no purpose and wander at times. Even though you work diligently, prepare your skills, and obtain great results, you have no choice but to face a gap without knowing the spiritual facts. Also, you can have personal problems that you cannot talk about with your family or close friends.
1. You must solve spiritual things spiritually
Satan who is unseen to the eyes is a being with character; therefore, he makes you fail by making you fall from your weaknesses and puts you under the authority of hell. Coming out of this is the Passover. God knew we could not come out of it with our strength and gave us the filling of the Holy Spirit, and this is the Pentecost. He also promised to be with us with the background of heaven. This is the Feast of Ingathering. The blessings of these three observances are spiritual. When you have assurance, the forces of darkness flee, the kingdom of God comes upon your life, and all problems begin to be solved.
2. Spiritual blessings must be revealed in your life
God revealed His power through the budding of Aaron’s staff to the Israelites who continued to have unbelief. Believe in God’s Word and power. Then, rather than being sensitive to words of unbelief, have this power enter your lives. Unbelievers are people who forfeit all spiritual blessings in order to gain the things that are seen to the eyes, but believers are people who invest the physical things to gain spiritual blessings. Spiritual power and blessings must be relayed in your life.
3. Spiritual blessings must continue into the future
The blessing you received from God does not end today, but it continues on until tomorrow and the future. As evidence, God has shown His Ark of the Covenant and Aaron’s budded staff. Not only Aaron’s staff was contained in the Ark of the Covenant; it also contained the Ten Commandments that Moses received on the mountain, and the miracle of the manna and the mystery of the jar. Whenever the Ark of the Covenant went forward, the Jordan River split and the walls of Jericho crumbled down. Enjoy the evidence and works God has given in your life every day.
