Prayer that takes place naturally
Psalms 5:3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #185 Oh, Spread the Tidings ‘Round (#179 in previous version) If you sail into sea with no compass, you will drift away with no sense of direction. Hence, the prayers of conviction of those who have received salvation become the strength to live in the world. Prayer is like a spiritual compass. Because you lack the knowledge of what prayer is, you are incapable of knowing God’s plan and receiving God’s guidance. Wandering, conflicts, hardships and trials follow you because you do not have a proper understanding of God’s plan. Proper prayer must take place to understand God’s invisible blessings.
1. Worship and prayer
The first step in focusing on prayer is to give worship. You will realize that God’s Word is living when you pray to concentrate on the Word. In particular, with a taste of the blessings of worship, you will remember the Word in any situation and uncover God’s hidden plans. Forum should not be forced, but the Word will consistently pop up in your thoughts and heart when you receive proper answers. In turn, your prayer topics will connect with the Word as you come to know the Word to share with those you meet.
2. Early morning prayer, all night prayer
For those who have difficulty praying, it may be a good idea to attend a prayer meeting. Through early morning or all night prayer, the doors of your heart will open as you fall into the atmosphere of prayer with others. It is meaningless to give worship or live your life according to your will, and your spiritual state will be a mess. David woke up at dawn to gain spiritual strength through prayer (Psalms 5:3), and even Jesus enjoyed early morning prayer in quiet places (Mark 1:35). Hezekiah experienced a miracle while earnestly praying before God, and the Early Church members experienced the working of the Holy Spirit as they prayed in one heart with the covenant. If it is difficult to restore prayer on your own, start praying together. Immense spiritual power stems from praying with others.
3. Intercessory prayer
You can pray for others if you can pray on your own. When one person enjoying the power of prayer prays for another, unthinkable works arise. You cannot drive while sleeping. In the same way, the doors of evangelism will remain shut if you are not alert in prayer. Throughout his evangelism travels, Paul prayed for the churches and urged believers to be alert and pray. The workers of Romans 16 shared the answers they received while praying with Paul, and became the main figures of the blessing of world evangelization.
