Live your life in society as you would live for the Lord
Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Because we are the ones who have found the answer in Christ, we must live our lives as we would live for the Lord. Whatever we do, we must work at it with all our hearts, as working for the Lord, and must not behave rashly (Colossians 3:23). How can we have an upright walk of faith?
1. All workplace, all business, all studies are God’s work
All workplace, all business, all studies are God’s work and workplace. Because all work is God’s work, it is incorrect for us to designate Sunday as the Lord’s Day and the rest as weekdays. Especially, setting apart the Lord’s work from our own work is an incorrect thought. The 7 Remnants and people who uprightly lived their walk of faith considered all their work God’s work. Joseph considered slavery God’s work and David, too, considered his sheep pen as God’s workplace and did not even lose one sheep. Colley Cibber and John Wanamaker, too, considered their workplace not their own but God’s workplace. Even if our boss is an unbeliever, every field is a workplace that God has entrusted to us.
2. Live your life in society as we would do for the Lord
Whatever we do, we must work at it with all our hearts, as if working for the Lord, not for men (Colossians 3:23). Wives must do to husbands as to Christ and husbands must do to wives as to Christ. If you live as married couples, there may be times when you don’t see eye to eye and get into arguments, but God created men and women to be different from each other. There are many areas that are hard to understand if we see with our hearts. That is why we need the answer of Christ in our lives. Children, too, must gladly obey their parents in everything in the Lord, and parents must not make their children discouraged. Workers, too, must work for their boss as for Christ. Bosses and employers, too, must keep in mind that their master is in heaven and treat their employees kindly. The important core of our life in society is to do all things as if we are doing it for Christ.
3. True answer
In order to receive true answers, first, we must not worry about anything in Christ. Worries are a disease of the mind. When we entrust our worries to the Lord, true answers will begin and physical diseases will be healed. Second, we must continue on with today’s Word, prayer, and evangelism. We must carry on with our studies and businesses inside of this. In addition, if we pray for finances and offerings, tremendous works will arise. Third, we must form prayer teams and help people see the time schedule in their lives and God’s works. For the six days during which we are buried in the worldly culture, it is easy for us to lose spiritual strength and for our mind to become desolate in spite of ourselves. Gaining the true power that God gives to us together with people who are deceived and are worried about their field is the true answer.
- We are God’s children who have received salvation. We can overcome all things when we are sure of this truth. Let us meditate for ten minutes on the Word that we held on to today and find the answers hidden in the field. Immanuel Church Sunday Worship 2nd Service / 2011.10.23
