Prayer of enjoying the Gospel
Colossians 3:5~11 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. (9~10)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #365 Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone
To God, nothing can be a problem. If there are problems, it is because of us. We are living our lives in various forms and as we live our lives, a part of ourselves is created unknowingly, and we call this our subconscious state of mind. In another perspective, this might be the only truth. We are influenced and impacted by what it inside of us, much more than what we perceive on the outside. This is the state of humanity. What will happen to our subconscious mind and spiritual state that dwells within sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, greed, anger, rage, malice, and slander? (Col. 3:5,8) Therefore, we must be deeply rooted in the Word and obtain genuine strength through prayer. How can we begin anew?
1. The power of intercessory prayer
God has given us the power of intercessory prayer. Faith is undoubtedly relayed, and prayers are inevitably answered. The lay people of the Early Church gathered together in prayer and petition. (Acts 1:14) Everyone has been given the unique right to pray for others. (1 Peter 2:9) Those who are aware of the essence of life, the spiritual state, and the subconscious mind understand the importance of prayer. Changing one’s spiritual state is not easy. Regardless of success and the exterior, people abide by their spiritual state. Realizing this truth will allow one to fathom the importance of intercessory prayer. Place this in your heart and look for people to pray for.
2. Prayer of enjoying the Gospel
By the power of prayer in the Gospel alone, everything becomes possible. What kind of prayer allows one to receive answers? It is the prayer that enjoys the covenant. It is the prayer that enjoys the covenant of Christ (Acts 1:1), God’s kingdom (Acts 1:3), and the filling of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). God’s works will arise by simply entering inside prayer of enjoying the Gospel, even if it is just for only 10 minutes a day. Also, answers will arise when you enjoy the Gospel and pray. This is the answer that began in Mark’s upper room; the answer of Acts. When scheduled prayer of enjoying the Gospel transitions to continuous prayer and 24-hour prayer, absolute victory will be ensured. If 24-hour prayer takes place, the answer of uniqueness will be received, and you will be able to conquer the world standing upon the summit.
-Even if you have hit rock bottom, everything can be restored through prayer. Try praying when you feel like you are alone, or nothing is taking place, and everything feels worthless. God can do it. Immanuel Church Sunday Worship 2nd Service / 2011.10.9
