Armor of the Evangelist
Philippians 4:6~7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (6~7)

There are people of various categories in the church. There are even people who believe for the first time in their elderly years, and there are even people who were born growing up in the church. As there are diverse people, the levels of people’s knowledge are different, and even the ideologies that they insist upon are respectively different. For that reason, because of a difference of views in the church, various words come out, and when serious, they even get connected with unbelief and conflicts. God has called us as evangelists who will save the church, so as we think about the church, what is it that the evangelists absolutely need?
1. Thinking about the plan of God
Although Joseph experienced a great suffering because of his older brothers, he confessed, “So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God.” Joseph’s thoughts were that God sent him first, saved Egypt, and saved his parents and brothers. Moses throwing away the status of being a prince and standing on the side of the Israelites was because of his thoughts for the sake of God’s glory (Hebrews 11:24~26). The important issue is not what incidents I have suffered through but what thoughts I am thinking. There is nothing more important than the thoughts, heart and mind of discovering the plan of God.
2. Faith of believing in the spiritual facts
Faith is not a vague belief. It is a confession that believes in the spiritual reality. Paul absolutely saw the works of the forces of darkness and the works of the Holy Spirit. Paul discovered the spiritual reality inside prayer, and said it was the greatest knowledge and the greatest blessing. This bespeaks of the fact that even though the majority of people say they believe, they have undiscerning faith and thoughts that cannot distinguish between the things of the world and things of God. The fact that they do not have an awareness of the forces of darkness means they can also be ignorant of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, in all actuality, prayer does not take place, they cannot receive answers, and they fail.
3. Prayer that seeks the work of the Holy Spirit
The prayer that seeks the work of the Holy Spirit with thoughts and faith is the greatest weapon of the evangelist. Because the Holy Spirit can do what we cannot do by our strength, our thoughts and faith must face God. We must receive the filling of the Holy Spirit and then we will be sure of the future that is approaching and become the witnesses who testify the Gospel. We do not pray for the sake of solving problems and seeking answers to problems. It is for the sake of receiving the important guidance of the Holy Spirit more than receiving answers and for the sake of living our entire lives for God’s glory inside the mystery of the filling of the Holy Spirit.
- The blessing that God has given to the church is becoming one through the thoughts towards God, faith and the Holy Spirit. Pray to save the world by believing in the spiritual truth and seeking the work of the Holy Spirit as you share one heart together with the church.
