The Remnant prepared by God
Isaiah 6:8-13 And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land."
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #429 When Upon Life’s Billows (#489 in previous version)
Remnants are people left behind by God for the church, nation, age and future. Remnants must properly understand and see missions before they go into the field. God said He would save people and transform the world through the Remnants. God has left behind people who will shine the light of glory into the world. Then what are the things Remnants must hold as they tae into consideration the church, world and age?
1. Person who possesses the things of God
God has given to the Remnants who will save the age what belongs to Him; that is, He has given to the Remnants the Gospel. God fulfills His works through those who possess what is most valuable to Him. Joseph, Moses, Samuel, David and Isaiah fell into this category, and so did the Early Church. There are very few people in the world who properly understand Jesus Christ, and even fewer who enjoy the Gospel. We must acknowledge that Jesus is the Christ in our individual academic pursuits, work, families and fields, and when we confess that He is the true lord and master, great works will take place. It is in this way that we must receive answers to all problems, both small and large, through Christ.
2. Person who has the answer
What does it mean to possess true answers and Gospel? As we live our lives, we encounter countless works, problems, and difficulties. At this time, the person who has the answer is the person who has the prayer of enjoying the complete Gospel and the prayer of enjoying Christ. Knowing and enjoying prayer properly means that they possess the answer. A person who has enjoyed and experienced the answer of Christ realizes they need nothing more. The Remnant who possesses what belongs to God must experiences the mystery of prayer in which they abide with God. Once we possess the mystery of prayer, we will see the answer to all problems, crises will appear as opportunities, and even difficulties will become blessings.
3. Person who will put into action one thing
God has given the Remnants who possess what belongs to Him a very important commission. No mater how weak or decrepit the world, God has left behind the Remnant to restore the entire world through the Gospel. We must relay to the entire world the Messiah promised by God to solve all of life’s problems, and Christ who came as the offspring of the woman and Immanuel. Satan is most afraid of this.
- We must find every day our specific prayers, and discover the mystery of Immanuel to gain strength even when we are alone.
