The name that brings all creation under His control
Philippians 3:20~21 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #356War of the Soul (#396 in previous version)
As we live our walk of faith, there are times when hardships come and we are faced with spiritual problems. There are even times when we get frustrated. At times like this, what must we do? When faced with important problems, there are two types of prayers. First, when we concentrate and pray, we can discover God’s plan. Second, when faced with an urgent situation or important decision, we can utilize the authority of the name of Jesus Christ in our prayer. Because God has give us the name of Christ before which all creation submits, there is no need for us to be discouraged.
1. We can even realize the Gospel within our failures.
When we are in the midst of failure and crises, if we hold on to the name of Christ that brings everything under His control, the works will arise. Paul met Christ on the road to Damascus and he realized the Gospel. He believed that Jesus is the Christ and his personal Lord and Savior and completely fell to his knees. At that moment, all the personal and family line problems that Paul was faced with were broken. Later, he was even commissioned as a missionary and stood as an evangelist who preached the Gospel from Macedonia to Rome.
2. Your spiritual eyes will open.
Paul considered the things of the world rubbish. He confessed that the knowledge of knowing Christ is the greatest knowledge. When our spiritual eyes open, the forces of darkness will crumble wherever we go. In addition, many people seek after their work and their plans, but Paul believed that the plan for which God had taken hold of him was the greatest plan. In addition, Paul knew that the reward to which God had called him heavenward was the greatest prize, and he also knew that the saved had the greatest background, which is the background of heaven.
3. We can equip ourselves with spiritual strength.
If we become equipped with spiritual strength, we can save the world. When the working of the Holy Spirit arose for the disciples of Ephesus, the forces of darkness in Tyrannus broke down and all those in Asia heard the Word of the Lord. When the people were faced with death as a result of a fierce storm, they were all able to retain their lives through Paul who possessed spiritual strength.
- Only the children of God can pray in the name of Jesus Christ, which brings everything under His control. Pray for your school, church, region, and family in the name of Christ.
