Eyes of an evangelist
Acts 3:1~10 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” (4~6)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #92 There’s One Above All Earthly Friends (#97 in previous version)
On their way to the temple for scheduled prayer, Peter and John proclaim the name of Jesus Christ to a crippled beggar and bring him to walk again. Along the path they traveled every day, with the eyes of an evangelist, they noticed the crippled man as a target for evangelism, and that became the field of answers to fulfill a new work of God. How can we enjoy the answers of God 24 hours a day?
1. An evangelist’s 24-hour prayer
24-hour prayer is linking all visible and intangible things, with no exceptions, to evangelism. Connecting everything to prayer and praying while applying the Word to your life is 24-hour prayer. It is believing that the Holy Spirit is with you as you begin your day. If you concentrate even momentarily to apply the given Word, new eyes to see what you could not see before will be opened.
2. New eyes of evangelism
If you enjoy 24-hour prayer, your eyes to see the age and targets of evangelism will open up. You will realize that everyone you meet was prepared to hear the Gospel through you. With these new eyes of evangelism, works will arise with a simple explanation of the name of Jesus Christ. Nobody can overcome sin and curses, Satan and the pits of hell.
3. One with true salvation
The time of prayer will become comfortable. Evangelism will take place and you will proclaim the name of Jesus Christ like Peter and John. As soon as the crippled man stood up and walked, all those who were there witnessed and the rumors spread throughout Israel. When crowds gathered around Peter and John, they humbly spoke of the Word. One with true salvation enjoys the Word of the Gospel, evangelism, and prayer. God always fulfills the Word, prayer, and evangelism.
- 24-hour prayer is the most realistic prayer of applying the Word to your life. As one with true salvation, partake in the blessing of 24-hour prayer which God is most pleased with.
