When you focus on the Gospel
Acts 2:17 "In the last days," God says, "I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #569 Savior, like a Shepherd Lead Us (#442 in previous version)
God promised that when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will receive power and be witnesses. When the Early Church held to this promise and gathered together to pray, they received the filling of the Holy Spirit. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, personal problems will be healed and you will be the witnesses of Christ. When you enjoy the filling of the Holy Spirit, the field will be revived, disciples will arise and the blessings of finances will be granted.
1. Healing on the Early Church
The Early Church was a gathering of those who needed healing. A large number were uneducated and unintelligent, and all who gathered were in need of government support. Regardless, world evangelization was possible through the weak and neither poverty nor ignorance could stop the work of the Holy Spirit. The exodus proves what is impossible by man’s strength is more than possible by the power of God. We cannot solve spiritual problems, but God will work by His power.
2. Works that arise when you focus
The members of the Early Church gathered in Mark’s upper room and focused on the promise of God. With the covenant, when they focused on prayer in one heart, the work of God began. When they focused on prayer, they let go of all unbelief, excuses and worries, and held on to God’s promise. Because you cannot hide ulterior motives from God, when you resolve to pray, the working of the Holy Spirit will take place.
3. Experience of the Gospel
The power of the Gospel as experienced through concentration of prayer transformed all fields. The crippled man whom nobody could help stand was able to walk again through the name of Christ, by the power of the Gospel. All Jews experienced the power of the Gospel through this incident and saw the great work of God. The Word movement swept across Jerusalem as the lay leaders arose, and all of Macedonia and Rome were transformed by the Gospel through Stephen and Paul.
- Changing myself is the greatest miracle. Meditate on the filling of the Holy Spirit and the power of the Gospel within deep prayer.
