What to discard
Acts 1:14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #419 Under His Wings I am Safely Abiding (#478 in previous version)
God saves people, answers prayers, and fulfills His Word. God who carries out the work of salvation, prayer answers, and the work of evangelism has promised us that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). Therefore, you must make the resolution to throw away three things for the sake of the life of the evangelist.
1. My standards
Prayer is discarding my thoughts. Your thoughts disappear when you receive a correct answer, and therefore, you must discard your standards. You must discard your standards in order to find the answer in the midst of conflicts and problems. We rely on our experience when we face a special problem, but we can receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit when we discard our experiences and standards. When you enjoy the blessing of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and enjoy the filling of the Holy Spirit, you will face a turning point in life.
2. My circumstances
Many people become joyful, discouraged, or worried due to their circumstances, and these circumstances include the family, church, workplace, and school. The moment you get rid of all of your worries and unbelief about your circumstances, the work of the Holy Spirit will begin. It is all right even if your circumstances may be a little difficult. When a problem comes, if you throw away your standards and see things in God’s standards, you will find new answers. Also, when your circumstances are difficult, do not look at your situation but look upon God, and the Holy Spirit will work.
3. My field
In the field of the world there are many motives and much greed. The person who prays in this field does not stand by his own opinion. Although it may seem like we are doing nothing, God works if we pray holding on to the covenant of Christ. Because the one who prays receives answers to prayer, he does not need motives and greed. If you pray, problems like scars, arrogance, and discouragement will be healed. If you pray holding on to the covenant in your field, then God will open the doors of evangelism.
- In order to face an important turning point in your life, challenge yourself in today’s Word, today’s prayer, and today’s evangelism.
