Talents and vocation that God has granted us
Acts 2:1~4 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. (1)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #497 I Love to Tell the Story (#274 in previous version)
Everyone is running frantically toward success, but not everyone can attain success and there is no guarantee that this success will last forever. It is not that God blessed Joseph or Moses, who we read about in the Bible, because they faced countless hardships. They saw what God desired. What God desires from those who have the Gospel is none other than talents and vocation. Discovering and enjoying this is the life of the evangelist.
1. Individual life
We discover God’s plans for us when we discover and enjoy today’s Word, prayer and evangelism, and this is the life of the evangelist. Without realizing this, Moses suffered for 80 years. Most parents try to pass down characters and talents that they want. What is important, however, is that we pass down God-given talents and vocation. When we restore the life of the evangelist and enter into this, then we can discover God-given talents and vocation and receive answers.
2. Mystery of family
God’s blessing and answers not only come to individuals but are passed down to our children and future generations through family and family line. Just as God destroyed Egypt''s culture of darkness through Moses who received the covenant from his parents, God will save the field of darkness through our children and future generations. We will receive answers when parents and children restore living the life of the evangelist within the family.
3. Blessing of church
Through worship we must realistically enjoy the answer of the three feasts of the wilderness, taste God’s power, and know and prepare for God’s answers for the future. If the Red Sea and Jordan River are blocking the plans that God desires, then He will part them, and if the Jericho Wall is standing in the way, then He will break down Jericho. When we restore living the life of the evangelist and discover God-given talents and vocation, then God’s plans will undoubtedly come to fulfillment.
- Deeply meditate on the talents and expertise that God gave you and make concrete plans for how you can live the life of the evangelist.
