Patients with bodily discharges
Leviticus 15:1~15 On the eighth day he must take two doves or two young pigeons and come before the Lord to the entrance to the tent of meeting and give them to the priest. The priest is to sacrifice them, the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering. In this way he will make atonement before the Lord for the man because of his discharge. (14~15)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #393 Great is Thy Faithfulness (#447 in previous version)
We must understand the blessings received by children of God, and must also understand how to see the problems that persist. The guidance of God that we experience within blessings and problems alike are applied exactly to our field. The disease mentioned in today’s Scripture has to do with shedding blood. Any illness, both trivial and grave, posed great problems in the wilderness. But what is more important is pressing forward while being aware of God’s plan through the problem. The problems we face right now may seem insurmountable; however, God has great plans. As we look at God’s plan for us, what kind of covenant must we relay to our own children?
1. Show the priest!
God commands the diseased and those afflicted with problems to find and show the priest. This refers to restoration of worship. It is vital that we gain the true strength that God gives within worship. We must not lose hold of the Sunday pulpit message, and must have the mystery of worship in the field and succeed in the worship that we give on our own. We need the wisdom to enter into the blessing of worship in our everyday lives before problems become deeper and disasters befall us. Are you able to taste the filling of the Holy Spirit God gives within the worship? We must confirm that we are children of God who have received salvation. This is the worship of those who possess the Gospel.
2. Give sacrifice of atonement and burnt offering!
Not all worships are the same. What is important is the worship we enjoy as we believe in Christ. Christ means that all the curses that I ought to have received, along with disasters and fate, have been crucified upon the cross. It is imperative that we know what Christ- the anointed one- has to do with us. The Israelites’ sacrifice of atonement and the burnt offering were a foreshadowing of Christ, who was to come. But we no longer have to sacrifice a lamb because Christ solved everything upon the cross. The knowledge of this mystery distinguishes a mere religious person from a true Christian.
3. Come out from within the Old Testament!
There are times when Christians remain stagnant in the Old Testament. But Jesus was crucified upon the cross, and through His death, the Gospel was fulfilled. We receive salvation when we believe in this truth. There is no greater loss than losing all new grace and blessings because we are so fixated on the past. Because prayer and the Gospel are a spiritual science, the Word is fulfilled when we make a resolution of faith within the Gospel. The answer of the Old Testament is Christ, and Christ is my Lord and master.
- Are you failing in worship because you are tied down to the things of the past? My problems are not problematic before God. Try to hear the voice of God today.
