The life of the evangelist that we must enjoy through our entire lives
Psalms 23:1~6 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. (1)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #88 The Lily of the Valley (#88 in previous version)
David overcame hardship and ultimately became a king. The shepherd boy who was always in solitude became a renowned individual who moved the world. How did David enjoy the concrete life of the evangelist through his personal lifetime?
1. Childhood years (Psalms 78:70~72)
Young David enjoyed his personal field the best during his years as a shepherd boy. At that place, David enjoyed the blessings of a saved child of God. He had victory in the field through his true faith towards God and personal skills. While authoring many written works and praises, he fostered a great strength that demolished all unbelief.
2. Youth years (1 Samuel 17:1-47)
Starting from a young age, David who prepared the Word and skill through prayer, met with an important time schedule. One day, God unleashed an incident, and a shocking incident happened to David. Completely unforeseeably, the young boy David struck down a mighty military general, Goliath. If you prepare spiritual strength and the strength of the world in the Gospel, important incidents arise in our time schedule. This is ultimately the important path by which we go to the answer of uniqueness. Therefore, the life of the evangelist through which we put into action our today in the Gospel is important.
3. Young adulthood years (Psalms 23:1-6)
After receiving great answers, the hardships that came were not problems, but a very important time schedule for preparing his vessel. After receiving great answers, David experienced the big hardships of King Saul who was seized by an evil spirit and his political rivals who tried to succeed without hiding their means and methods. Instead, this was the time at which David received the greatest blessings.
4. The prime years of David’s life (1 Kings 29:10~14)
We must become the pride of our parents, the pastor and the evangelist, and if we make the resolve that we will become the platform for our future descendents, answers will absolutely come. Through Samuel, David came to know the mystery of the Ark of the Covenant, made a resolve in his heart, and never forgot in his heart the construction of the temple that would house the Ark of the Covenant. Ultimately, according to what he embraced in his heart and resolved, all the preparations were perfectly made for the construction of the temple. This is precisely the life of the evangelist that we must enjoy.
- Draw a lifelong picture, and deeply meditate on how you will put into action and enjoy the life of the evangelist.
