From the first day until now
Philippians 1:3~11 I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now (3-5)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #292 I Could Not Do Without Thee (#415 in previous version)
From the first day until now, God carries out our everything. Therefore, if children of God can pray, there is nothing that can be a problem. The Holy Spirit works when we pray, opens the door of the throne of heaven, sends the Lord’s angels and answers. In particular, during the time of prayer, the forces of darkness crumble. Satan is not a being who disappears, but as he continues to work, through prayer we must rein in the forces of Satan.
1. Prayer that matches our position and sense of identity
We must begin our prayer so it closely fits our personal will and sense of identity. We must raise a plan to start scheduled worship that fits our personal circumstances, and we can start scheduled worship through a personal method of waking up about ten minutes early. Daniel gave scheduled worship three times a day, and Paul and Silas gave scheduled worship in prison. The start itself is an answer. If we do not fall into unbelief and grab hold of the covenant, correct answers will come. If we enjoy the blessing of continuous prayer starting from this moment, the works of the Word in our fields arise through us. Then, starting from this moment, we will come to know what 24-hour prayer is, and we can enjoy 24-hour prayer peacefully in our hearts from beginning to end.
2. What took place, what to enjoy, what will take place
If we start scheduled, continuous and 24-hour prayer, we see three important things. We first see what has taken place. It says to give thanks every time I remember you, to give thanks in all my prayers for you, and to give thanks for how joyful it is that you participate in the Gospel movement (Philippians 1:3~5). Also, you see what is enjoyed. It says that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. In addition, Paul is in prison right now, and he realized that this is God’s tremendous plan. Also, he can see what will take place in the future. The words, “knowledge and depth of insight (Philippians 1:9),” does not mean that you go and realize when world evangelization arises, but that you realize in advance.
3. Life change
Life changes after realizing the Gospel. Thanksgiving has no choice but to come out. Joy comes out every time we pray. This is how Paul made this confession: ‘God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.’ We must be able to taste true thanksgiving in the very form of our life through deep prayer.
-To the extent that prayer fitting our sense of identity takes place, we can gain strength. To the extent that we gain strength, spiritual healing arises and the forfeited areas are restored. Try the prayer that fits my position.
