In front of God
Leviticus 10:1~7 Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command. So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. (1~2)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #191 I’m Rejoicing Night and Day (#427 in previous version)
Nothing in this world is eternal; however, the Word of God is and it will absolutely be fulfilled. What is the greatest promise of this eternal Word? It is the fact that the people of God will absolutely be successful. The hardships I am facing right are not everything for it is God’s plan for me to be victorious with the covenant. We must live our walk of faith with other people, but my faith must be before God. What is the walk of faith that stands before God?
1. The walk of faith centered on the tabernacle
The walk of faith must not be lived before people, but God. I must place all the important things in my live before God. This signifies the covenant of the walk of faith centered on the tabernacle. The sole object of our faith is God; therefore, in the midst of problems, rather than relying on people, we must possess the mystery to depend on God. In the tabernacle were the Ark of the Covenant and lampstand, as well as the blessings of the three feasts. You will be victorious if you hold on to the Word, follow the light, and are guided by the Holy Spirit.
2. The walk of faith centered on God
In the Scripture, Nadab and Abihu were priests, but because they lived their walk of faith centered on people, they faced death. Especially the servant of the Lord must not light another lamp. The light of the lamp is the life of Christ, and the oil signifies the working of the Holy Spirit. With the lamp at the center one must stand before God; however, lighting the lampstand with unauthorized fire would lead to a path of curses. The walk of faith centered on people, standards of people, and my standards will ultimately fail. Satan attacks the heart that I have as a child of God. When my standards, fundamentals and thoughts are centered on God, then the true walk of faith begins.
3. Centered on the Holy Spirit and prayer
The church will be revived when it is center on the Holy Spirit and prayer. When the lamp is lit during the night, all the darkness fades and the room is illuminated. The church must not extinguish this light even in the morning. When the Church enjoys the oil of the Holy Spirit and the light of the life of Christ through prayer 24 hours a day, those who need the Gospel will be able to bear the commission of evangelism. Enjoying the power of prayer before God is the walk of faith. All the figures of the Gospel in the Bible did this. When you are centered on prayer and the Holy Spirit, you can save others and yourself.
- Examine whether or not your walk of faith is before God or people. Begin today’s Word, prayer, and evangelism anew before God.
