Determining our life direction
Psalms 78:70~72 He chose David his servant and took him from the sheep pens; from tending the sheep he brought him to be the shepherd of his people Jacob, of Israel his inheritance. And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.

We tend to lose hold of many things in our free time, personal time, and the short moments of spare time in our lives. David was a figure who resolved his life’s direction towards great answers of the future in the short moments of his life. In his free time, David held on to the Word and gave praise while holding on to the future. Also, David had the balanced lifestyle to meditate on the Word of God and made time to examine himself. Therefore, despite any troubles or crises he was able to continuously enjoy these blessings. Today, as we take a look at David’s life, how must we apply ourselves?
1. Evidence in today’s life
A witness discovers today’s Word and prayer in the midst of the life of the evangelist, and contemplates evangelism. Although David was merely a shepherd, he lived the life of the evangelist by discovering and enjoying God’s grace inside of that lifestyle. The trivialities are no longer small in the life of the evangelist. By holding on to the covenant and starting again in the small things, God will give you strength. In today’s time, look at the miniscule things with the eyes of the evangelist and do not lose of them.
2. Assurance concerning the future
God called David to be the king when he was a little shepherd boy. It says that when the covenant was delivered through Samuel, the spirit of the Lord came upon David. This signifies God giving David strength. David, who prayed while holding on to the covenant, sang before King Saul who was spiritually oppressed and the forces of darkness were diminished. When you make the resolution to live the life of the evangelist, problems and crises may arrive. At that time, choose faith and you will enjoy the strength that God will give to you.
3. True courage and preparation
When David faced numerous hardships and was on the brink of death, or when he encountered Goliath the Philistine, he challenged with the courage before God. Honestly speaking, God had already led David to make the necessary preparations beforehand. Therefore, David knew the mystery to stand before God. Now we must fight the spiritual battle in this world. More than other people, we must restore the spiritual power and spiritual grace of God’s strength. There are times when the life of the evangelist may not take place. However, you must hold on to the covenant today and continue to challenge.
- Set the time to enjoy today’s Word, prayer, and evangelism, and begin to make the small application of enjoying God’s blessings inside of this.
