Acts 1:14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

As you read through Acts, there are mentions of Priscilla’s home, Nympha’s home, and Mark’s home. Acts is not a real estate classified section; yet, why do the talks of individual homes persist? The promises Christ made were fulfilled within the family, and the family was the beginning of the evangelism movement. With our family in mind, what covenant must we hold on to?
1. The people who gathered in Mark’s upper room
The people who gathered in Mark’s upper room believed in the promise that God would be with them. God gave the blessing of the throne to those who enjoyed this promise, and for as long as they lived, the background of heaven was upon them. When they held on to the Word as the promise and prayed wholeheartedly, the kingdom of God came upon them, and the power of God was manifested. The gathering in Mark’s upper room was a meeting of witnesses who possessed the evidence of Immanuel.
2. The three fields
The family is the most important field in the Gospel movement. But when examining the family, there are many difficult factors. Instead of falling into man-made conflicts and influences, when we hold on to the Word and delve into deep prayer, the doors through which we can relay the Gospel to other people will undoubtedly open. This is termed the blessing of evangelism. When we dwell within the blessing of evangelism, the disciples will rise in the field and we will receive the answer of the restoration of finances. This is the blessing of evangelists that is hidden within the family that knows the Gospel.
3. The field that listens to the voice of God
Whenever we hear the news of souls suffering within the myriads of tragedies and events unfolding around the world, there is a voice we must hear deep within our hearts. God speaks to our hearts toward the countless people lost in the field. We must listen to the voice of God. When we live the life of the evangelist, we will be able to hear the voice of God. And God will grant His Word and fulfillment to those who hear His voice. The members of Mark’s upper room were people who were able to hear the voice of God in the midst of praying for the age and posterity.
- What is the voice of God telling me today? Embrace deep in your heart the covenant God gives you today and pray for the answers that a family with the Gospel must enjoy.
