The small life of the evangelist
Acts 1:1~2 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen (1~2)

Theophilus was a new church member who heard an explanation about Christ from the doctor, Luke. Luke recorded as a letter and relayed to Theophilus who Christ was, what kind of life of an evangelist a person of God who has discovered Christ should live and the way of the evangelist he should walk. What is most needed for new church members is the life of the evangelist. The life of the evangelist is the basics for the church lay leader who helps new church members. In addition, the life of the evangelist is a necessity for church pastors.
1. Acts 1:1
The doctor, Luke, was a church lay leader who relayed the message to the new church member named Theophilus. Luke, who lived the life of the evangelist, passed on the testifying documents of Luke and Acts. Also, the documents that recorded the footsteps of the evangelist in detail have still become the platform and answers for the evangelists who are running for the sake of world evangelization 2,000 years later.
2. Acts 1:14
The believers of the Early Church and disciples who gathered at Mark’s upper room were the people who already laid down the answer regarding Christ, the kingdom of God and the filling of the Holy Spirit. When they gathered possessing this answer, what kinds of works arose? First, they all experienced the works of the filling of the Holy Spirit within the accurate time schedule of God, and they saw the doors of evangelism for 15 nations opening wide (Acts 2:9~11). Second, although there was severe persecution, 3,000 disciples arose (Acts 2:41). Third, the disciples who devoted themselves for the Gospel were raised (Romans 16:3~5). If you grab hold of the Word of God and pray with the evangelists, the work of the Holy Spirit and Biblical evangelism answers arise in our fields.
3. Acts 9:15
Unto the people of God who grabbed hold of God’s Word of the covenant in the field and prayed, the concrete fruits that God was pleased with were born. The persecutor, Paul, who was God’s chosen instrument for world evangelization repented and returned to the Lord. Afterwards, the tremendous works of evangelism arose because of one person, Paul. In addition, 14 epistles came out through Paul. Also, the figures of Romans chapter 16 came out. Holding in your heart these blessings is the life of the evangelist.
- What is the life of the evangelist that you must put into action today and enjoy? Concretely find it and meditate upon it.
