Guilt offering
Leviticus 5:14~19 If a person sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though he does not know it, he is guilty and will be held responsible. He is to bring to the priest as a guilt offering a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value. In this way the priest will make atonement for him for the wrong he has committed unintentionally, and he will be forgiven. (17~18)

Today’s Scripture reading explains guilt offering, one of the sacrifices offered to the Lord. Just as the name implies, a guilt offering is a worship through which you receive the forgiveness of your sins in all the things happening in your life and your field. The one and only power that resolves the problem of sin is the grace of the cross of Christ. Therefore, a guilt offering signifies the worship in which you seek out the blessing of Christ in all incidents and the purpose of Christ in all your answers and enjoy the grace of Christ in all your mistakes and faults. It is the blessing of enjoying the mystery of Christ when you make a mistake or commit a fault and when you are facing crises and disasters that you can never resolve.
1. What we must do first
After the Exodus from Egypt, there were a few things that the Israelites, who were to conquer the land of Canaan, had to cast aside. First, they had to cast aside the ideology of Egypt. They must no longer live according to the ways they had lived in Egypt. Second, they had to cast aside the disposition of slaves. There was no need for them to be seized by victim mentality or inferiority complex, with which you compare yourself with others or blame others. Third, they had to cast aside the disposition of the wilderness. None of the people who feared, worried, and had unbelief in the wilderness were able to enter the land of Canaan. You are a person of God, bought at the price of the blood of Christ. We must cast aside these three things and confirm that we are indeed children of God.
2. What we must firmly hold on to
The people of God, who rid themselves of unbelief, must firmly grab hold of a few things. These things are necessary for overcoming problems, worries, and spiritual problems. First, we must hold to the hope for the future. It may seem as if we are living the life that we have never lived before, but in fact we are moving forward, knowing the conclusion and what the future holds. Even now God can part the Red Sea and crumble the Wall of Jericho and stop the sun and the moon, if necessary. More importantly, entering the land of Canaan is God’s plan. We must have an assurance of hope when aligning our direction with God’s plan and world evangelization even in the areas of our life, academics, work, and health. Second, we need power when walking through the wilderness. It is about enjoying the Christ becoming the Lord and master in all things that we do. Providing us with enough power through worship is God’s method.
- Meditate on what we must cast aside and what we must firmly grab hold of and put it into practice in the life of the evangelist.
