My very own secret to prayer
Psalm 1:1~6 But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. (2)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #366 Open My Eyes, that I May See (# 485 in previous version)
How do you spend the very first hour in the morning as you begin your day? The state of your morning is inexorably linked to your spiritual state, as well as your physical health. It is during the morning in which the state of your body and spirit are clearest. That is why it is better still if you set aside the time to meditate and confirm the Word through the Prayer Journal in the morning. During the afternoon, we must connect everything we hear and everything we see to prayer through our thoughts. This is the life of the evangelist we can enjoy through the Prayer Journal.
1. The life of the evangelist and Sunday worship.
There are answers we must discover through Sunday worship. We must restore the thanksgiving that we lost in our everyday lives. If we go forth to God with the heart of thanksgiving, we will see prayer topics and answers immediately. During worship, we will be able to confirm answers through the Word, and aspire to challenge to a new beginning armed with the Word we received. Within the given Word are the accurate answers regarding the various incidents I will face throughout the week as well as God’s plan for me. We need to take this Word to heart and pray continuously and in a scheduled manner.
2. The life of the evangelist and the everyday life
We need to think that we are living the rest of the week armed with the Word we received during worship. There are things we must do and people we must meet throughout the week. At times, unexpected events may occur. When we examine all aforementioned things with the perspective of an evangelist, we will realize that everything has been prepared for the purpose of evangelism. If we hold on to that day’s Word and prayer through Sunday worship, we will see that our fields are being changed slowly but surely, and experience the guidance of the Holy Spirit exactly in the way we held on to the Word. Once we continue to pray with the Word we received, God-given answers will be given to me. It is from this point people who need to hear the Gospel will see the evidence I possess and seek me.
3. The works that arise through the life of the evangelist
It is written in the Bible that the Holy Spirit will work when we pray. Also, when we pray, the blessings of heaven will come upon us, and the authority to cast out the forces of darkness in all of the earth will be given to us. God will open the doors of meeting to those who put into action the life of the evangelist, and give them the filling of the Holy Spirit as well as mobilize His heavenly armies.
- How do I begin my day? Begin the life of the evangelist in which you give the first hour of your day to God. Examine how you give your Sunday worship and the life of the evangelist you live in your everyday life.
