The grain offering for three kinds of resolutions
Leviticus 2:1~3 “When anyone brings a grain offering to the Lord, their offering is to be of the finest flour. They are to pour olive oil on it, put incense on it and take it to Aaron’s sons the priests. The priest shall take a handful of the flour and oil, together with all the incense, and burn this as a memorial portion on the altar, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord. (1~2)
Hymn for scheduled worship: Korean/English Hymnal #23 O For a Thousand Tongues
Everyone faces problems that they wish to resolve and crises, big or small, are bound to approach us. Therefore, as you live your life you must hold on to the evidence of the Bible and the Gospel. Figures of faith recorded in the Bible also held on to the Word and witnessed the evidence of God. God provides His Word, and desires for us to become witnesses that are guided by Him through the worship.
1. Offer what must be commemorated (past)
The grain offering signifies the giving of grains to the Lord. Why did the Lord order the construction of the tabernacle and worship in the midst of the difficult wilderness? Through the three feasts, God described the guidance of the Gospel, heaven, and the Holy Spirit. Experiencing God who has given us salvation and will be responsible for us eternally through the background of heaven becoming my personal God is worship. Also, if I hold on to the covenant of the past as today’s commemoration, then God’s grace will come upon me. When the Israelites were dying of thirst God provided a stream of water, and when they were suffering from hunger, God provided manna and quail. If I hold on to the Word experienced by the figures of faith, I can receive the same answers as them. Worship is when I offer my little faith and in return receive great answers and blessings.
2. Offer the holy things (Today)
The holy things are distinct from all other things. Remember that your today, which is set apart from the life of the evangelist, must become a time of worship before God. Through worship, you can receive and enjoy the blessings of holy fellowship with God. That is why faith apart from the worldly things, worship and devotion are important. The people of God must accurately know the power of the Gospel, a spiritual truth that transcends all physical things. Within that, true thanksgiving is restored.
3. Offer what has ripened first (future)
While worshiping God, there is something we must remember. With the time schedule of the future that God will fulfill, I must worship with the most important and good things. I must be capable of offering the first ripe fruits. Like this, during the time of worship as I communicate with God, if I lay down my problems and pray, I will receive new strength. You will then taste the true happiness of becoming closer to God. It is a taste that surpasses all answers.
- Is my today within the blessing of worship that God is pleased with? Make today a day in which you can restore true thanksgiving concerning the past, present, and future.
