Those who work hard in the Lord
Romans 16:12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord.

It may seem that children of God know Christ and receive grace; however, in actuality, they often lose hold of God. First, they crumble in the midst of their personal interactions with others. Even within the time schedule of receiving blessings, they continue to learn only unbelief in the midst of their personal interactions and ultimately lose hold of blessings through the use of humanism. They also lose hold of blessings in the midst of the church field. We must discover the blessing of God anew every day, but as we work for the church, we may fall into unbelief as well as trials. Finally, when we go out into society, it may feel that God is nonexistent.
1. Those who have worked hard
Although it doesn’t specify the work they did, the Bible records that they did ‘work hard.’ Herein lies the answer. All our hard work for the Lord is grace and thanksgiving in its entirety; there is no reason for us to know the content. The works we undertake for the church and society are distinctly different. No matter how much work we do for the church, it is not simply to rack up accomplishments; rather, it is grace. The original Greek manuscript of the Bible expresses that they ‘worked hard to the point of exhaustion.’ It means that they enjoyed the blessings of the Gospel to such an extent that they did their absolute best. Our works may seem trivial, but our names will remain eternally because of it.
2. Three devotions
In what ways and for what did the Early Church devote themselves? It is imperative that we understand how the Early Church was able to receive such answers even without doing much. The Early Church members devoted themselves for the Gospel to become the Gospel. Other people must look at us and feel, “Ah, this is the Gospel!” even without our having to explicitly explain it. When faced with problems, if we know the truth that Jesus is the Christ, the problems will begin to be resolved. When Christ truly becomes the Christ, and when Christ truly becomes the Lord, the works of God will arise in the field. Additionally, the Early Church members devoted themselves for evangelism to truly be evangelism. Evangelism is becoming a witness who simply explains what we possess. Finally, the Early Church had a life-staking devotion.
3. The three women
The three women mentioned in the Scripture for today- Tryphena, Tryphosa and Persislacked finances but received answers as people who worked hard within the Lord. They were all women living in an age that discriminated against them by treating females to be inferior beings. But they received answers to the extent that Paul called them by name, leaving them as an important record. Likewise, if we simply refrain from being deceived in all fields and devote ourselves properly, we will receive answers.
