What does it mean to relay the Gospel alone and evangelize? All things are in the Gospel and evangelism. It means that we shouldn’t invest our time on other things. Although the Gospel and evangelism are very important, many people waste time with worthless matters, get into useless fights and conflicts, and are deceived by the powers of darkness. How can we overcome the powers of darkness and do the correct Gospel and evangelism movement?
1. The second strategy to overcome the forces of darkness
How should we look at the lay leaders who are also the leaders of the church? This is the second strategy to defeat the forces of darkness. We lose to the forces of darkness because of misunderstandings, conflicts, and incorrect thinking. How must all lay leaders and laypeople view their pastors? They must view them as people worth staking their lives for. Priscilla and Aquila staked their lives for Paul. Pastors who are wrong simply need more help. Onesimus was a slave and did something very wrong, but was changed by the Gospel and became a leader to save the church of Colosse. Pastors who are lacking need to be raised to a higher level. Although Moses’ brother Aaron was a high priest, he built the golden calf idol when Moses went to the mountain to receive God’s commandments. Nevertheless, God raised Aaron as the head of the tribe of Levi. We must see all nearby lay leaders as images of God whom God has placed next to us. Church leaders must also see even the most lacking church member as a blessed person of God. When this happens, we can become one spiritually and the forces of darkness cannot attack us.
2. This is when God will entrust us with the important things
God attached Ananias, Lydia, Jason, Priscilla and Aquila to Paul. Gaius provided hospitality, not only to Paul but also to all evangelists. Philemon received the financial blessing to fully support Paul’s evangelism ministry. God also blessed the business of Priscilla and Aquila, who staked their lives to help the servants of the Lord.
