Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Before we discover the direction of evangelism in our lives, it is imperative we possess a Gospel-centered nature. It is also important that we unfailingly receive the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because we cannot do anything on our own level, we must absolutely receive the filling of the Holy Spirit. Because we are undeniably people of God, we must take even more heed not to follow any other way or utilize any other method. And because God sees us as precious evangelism disciples, we must absolutely overcome four obstacles.
1. We must overcome the limitations of the church
When it comes to evangelism, it is most vital that the limitations of the church be wiped clean. The church must absolutely have an atmosphere that is conducive to the Gospel, evangelism and disciples. Furthermore, we must eliminate all stumbling blocks that prevent the work of God from taking place. When the Early Church did away with the boundaries and limitations of nationalism which separated the Jews from the Gentiles in Mark’s upper room, the doors of evangelism were flung open in all the nations. The Gospel absolutely gives rise to amazing works, but the problem lies within us. We must shatter our tiny vessels, and also do away with our improper ulterior motives. Only then will God attach hidden disciples to us.
2. We must overcome the limitations of the field
Not only was the Early Church ostracized by the Jews in society, but they were also unfairly and falsely accused as heretical. At this time, the Early Church overcame this limitation by burrowing deep into the lecture halls where the specialized elites and Remnants gathered. They did not lose sight of important golden fishing grounds in the region, actively seeking them out. Consequently, they were able to discover the disciples God had hidden for them in the field.
3. We must overcome the limitations of evangelism
Jesus said that when we are filled by the Holy Spirit, we would receive power, and become witnesses. Jesus’ sequential use of the words ‘Jerusalem,’ ‘all Judea,’ ‘Samaria,’ and ‘all ends of the earth’ signifies that the work of evangelism will arise in the places closest to us, and that this answer will then be relayed to the ends of the Earth. We must be able to consider those nearest to us the dearest and most precious; moreover, we must be able to transform those nearest to us. Breathing life into the places that are closest to us is the fastest way to overcome the limitations of evangelism. Additionally, discovering disciples is the way to completely transcend the limitations of evangelism. We must discover disciples like the workers listed in Romans 16, whom God had hidden for long ages past.
