People who enjoyed other things instead of the Gospel
Acts 11:1~18 The apostles and the brothers throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him (1~2)

God gave us a complete Gospel. If we enjoy other things rather than the Gospel, it means we are not enjoying the Gospel as we should. Joseph enjoyed the Gospel holding onto the vision that God gave him through a dream. When he was sold as a slave, he embraced his vision, looked at the world the right way and continued to enjoy the Gospel. When he was serving as the head servant of the household, he experienced God through continuous prayer and enjoyed the Gospel. When Potiphar’s wife seduced him, he was able to overcome it because he was in a healthy spiritual state derived from the enjoyment of the Gospel. When he was falsely accused and was imprisoned, he enjoyed the Gospel through deep prayer. If we enjoy the Gospel the right way, even our incompetence or mistakes won’t be a problem. The Gospel definitely contains everything. If you can’t see this you will fail.
1. The Jewish people who failed
Though the Jewish people were the first to receive the complete Gospel, they valued their systems and traditions more than the Gospel. Because they were not able to enjoy the complete Gospel, they couldn’t block the disaster that eventually crashed down upon them. Only the Gospel can heal spiritual problems. That is why those who are to receive salvation and those who have spiritual problems inevitably seek the Gospel. The Jewish people didn’t know this. As a result, they faced disasters and became slaves and captives.
2. The Medieval Church that failed
Because the Medieval Church weakened Christ in various aspects, they failed. They emphasized meritorious deeds more than Christ. They emphasized good deeds, charity and frugality rather than Christ. Meritorious deeds, good deeds, charity and frugality are all needed, but they cannot be the conditions by which we receive salvation. They are just things that should rightfully be done. Nothing can be higher or more important than Christ.
3. The Early Church that failed
How did the Early Church that began with the complete Gospel fail? If we are in despair, that is our golden opportunity to receive God’s answers. Most times, when we face despair, we waver. When our surroundings look so formidable and powerful, we are bound to shake. Though we know the importance of the Gospel, we end up being concerned about other things instead when we’re not able to enjoy it. We must definitely hold onto the evidence that comes from the complete Gospel.
