How can we hold onto our lifelong prayer topics? If you do not have prayer topics, that means that you cannot have answers to prayer either. However, it is also very dangerous for you to set prayer topics that have nothing to do with God. You will face hardships if you have prayer topics, but you don’t actually pray. Then, what must we do in order to correctly hold onto our lifelong prayer topics?
1. Prayer of establishing a relationship with God
Many people try to find their vision first. However, those who correctly received answers to prayers had a sound relationship with God. What God desires is for us to realize the Gospel, enjoy our relationship with God, and receive answers. For this reason, the prayer of establishing a relationship with God in which we communicate with God is the first priority. The 7 Remnants who received the most answers in the Bible were able to enjoy a deeper relationship with God, through the Gospel, in any and every situation. These people enjoyed true happiness in prayer; for this reason, they were able to overcome all situations. In the midst of this, the vision regarding the future will come out. Also, in the midst of this, we must wait for the filling of the Holy Spirit. It is more important for us to restore our relationship with God than for us to determine our prayer topics.
2. Immanuel prayer
Immanuel prayer is not just about God being with me; it is about God being with us. There are many different types of people in the world: some help the children of God, some harm the children of God, and some plot to benefit from the children of God. In the midst of this, we must discover God’s plan, and this is Immanuel prayer. If Potiphar’s wife hadn’t tempted Joseph, Joseph would not have become the governor. If Saul had not chased after David, David would not have received accurate answers. These things coming together is what we refer to as Immanuel prayer. This prayer is field prayer and continuous prayer. It is discovering God’s plan in my field.
3. Evangelism prayer
The prayer that we must realistically pray is evangelism prayer. Jesus said, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.” Then, after He resurrected, He said to go to all nations, to all peoples, and to the ends of the earth. For 40 days, He spoke about the kingdom of God. If we pray regarding evangelism, God will answer us in all other areas, as well. With these answers, we can determine our prayer topics. Prayer topics will come together with the fulfillment of the Word as evidence. It is at this time that we can see our lifelong prayer topics.
