Change arises according to what we do. Our actions change according to what we see. What we see changes according to what we possess. The Early Church transformed the field through the disciples who had the Gospel. We must correctly know how the Early Church’s disciples were able to change the field.
1. The content they possessed was different
The Early Church disciples were those who were filled with the Holy Spirit, filled with wisdom and filled with faith. ‘Filled’ means to be full to the brim. Furthermore, it has the meaning ‘only’ to convey that it is not mixed with anything else. For the Early Church disciples, it was not just the Gospel but only the Gospel. It was not the mere act of evangelism but evangelism alone. It was not Bible studies but being centered on only the Word.
2. They followed the Word of God
God gave the apostles the Word that would be fulfilled and enabled the Word movement to arise. As a result of the disciples moving in the field according to the Word from the apostles, the Word of God spread widely and grew in power. The number of disciples greatly increased and even religious leaders submitted before the Word. No one can block the power of the influence of the Word. Although a law was established so they would not evangelize, the Early Church disciples followed the Word, not the law. They plowed into upper class society, as well as the lower class society. Place by place, they established field churches and exerted the influence of the Word of God.
3. They devoted themselves to the Gospel and evangelism
The Early Church disciples helped the apostles so they would focus solely on the Word and prayer, and they staked their lives on and devoted themselves to the Gospel and evangelism alone. As a direct result, the Word movement arose all across the region and the forces of darkness began to be bound. The Holy Spirit sent the angel of the Lord, and workers were attached to the disciples of the Early Church. During a time of crisis, God opened the prison doors, rescued Peter and struck down Herod, his persecutor. The doors of evangelism and missions opened region by region.
