Those who are saved have the right to receive answers to their prayers. Then how can our prayers be answered? Paul confesses his secret. There are many times when we are double-hearted and double-minded. Answers come when we finally have one heart and mind. That is when God pours down His blessings.
1. When does God work miracles?
The father of faith, Abraham, didn’t receive answers when he was double-hearted. Yet, when he made a resolution to yield everything and stand before God, works took place. Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego and David made up their minds not to bow before the idols in order to have true success. God testified His power in the whole world through them. Cornelius was a centurion in the Italian special forces dispatched by the Roman emperor. God''s works arose when he knelt before Christ.
2. When did true healing take place?
There is a man named Bartimaeus in the Bible who received healing. He had assurance that only Jesus could heal his blindness. That is when Jesus looked toward him. Only the Gospel can make man happy. There are many who are afflicted mentally. There are countless mental patients who are left unprotected, people who can’t maintain normal social lives, and those who are agonized by depression. What they need the most is to hear the Gospel. When the Gospel takes root in their heart, thoughts and souls, healing will take place.
3. Paul’s prayer that conquered the world
Man has two conflicting characters and wills that fight against each other. Paul made an honest confession when he said, ‘What a wretched man I am!’ When we do our ministry, or pray or live our Christian lives, we must be honest before God in order for Him to work. We can come before God as we are through prayer. These prayers will be answered. God knows everything, so we have to be honest with ourselves.
