How much of the Gospel do we know? We might not know as much of the Gospel as we think we do. Even evangelist Paul confessed that the breadth, length, height and depth of the Gospel cannot be fathomed. The great theologian Calvin also confessed that he could never fully explain the tremendous things recorded in the Bible.
1. Persecutions, problems and conflicts are the start of evangelism
Many people are losing hold of many blessings in the midst of persecutions, problems, hardships and conflicts. However, we who carry the Gospel with us must begin from those things. We must find the sure blessing of God within these things. And that is the mystery of Christ - the mystery of the kingdom of God and the working of the Holy Sprit by which the forces of darkness are bound. Once we find these things, the greatest answers will come to us if we firmly grab hold of this covenant and just wait for His time schedule. We must begin in this order.
2. Working of the Holy Spirit
We must begin after we see the working of the Holy Spirit take place. Problems arise because most of the believers reverse this order. “When should we begin church construction?” The answer to this question is to begin if God works. It doesn’t mean that we should not make any plans. It means that we need to do things according to the plan that God gives us. If we are enjoying the correct Gospel, the Holy Spirit will surely be at work and God’s time schedule will accurately be brought to fulfillment. Then one day, we will experience answers - the working of the Holy Spirit like wind and fire will take place, the door of evangelism will open in 15 nations and three thousand disciples will arise. The most important fact is that all the answers lie in our problems. If we find important answers through problems and wait for God’s time schedule, the Holy Spirit will by all means be at work. It is at this time that we must begin.
3. Evidence
Starting now, we must set aside time to pray so that we may be able to discern what is best. We must grab hold of the Word that God gives us today as we carry out the tasks that we have been put in charge of. We must think about and make plans for evangelism everyday, and we must lay out a schedule for the people we meet. This is a very simple and easy thing to do, and yet great and astounding works will take place inside of this.
