To continue in the evangelism movement, we must find and raise the historic evangelists through the movement geared towards raising the future generations. That is why we must raise up the leader that can take responsibility for the evangelism movement, and raise up leaders who can shoulder the responsibility of the evangelism movement in various regions and countries. Finding them is so vital for the continuation of the world evangelization movement. Then how must we do this work?
1. Age of Elijah and Elisha
God tells Elijah on Mount Horeb that there are 7,000 hidden disciples all over Israel who have not bowed down to the idols. Then He allows him to find a leader- Elisha. Ultimately, through Elisha the leader, the system of those with life was established in various places. This means that we must do the work of raising leaders in various regions. And when the nation of Aram attacked them, the work of saving Aram took place. This means that we must raise up the spiritual leaders who are fit to save an entire country.
2. The background of the Early Church that was maintained for 250 years
If we are to maintain the evangelism movement, we must know how we ought to start it, proceed with it, and relay it. The Early Church began from Peter and the evangelism movement began with the mystery of Christ (Acts 1:1), the kingdom of God (Acts 1:3) and the work of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). Additionally, the evangelism movement was able to proceed with Paul’s confession that he considered “all things beside Christ to be rubbish,”(Philippians 3). Timothy received the answer like the “soldier, athlete and the farmer,” (2 Timothy 2:1~7) and relayed this Gospel movement .
3. A person and organization that can maintain this movement until the second coming of the Lord
In order to continue this work until the second coming of the Lord, what must we do? First, we must do Biblical evangelism. Biblical evangelism is receiving the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Second, it is doing evangelism rooted in the Gospel and not in legalism. Third, we must do evangelism that is befitting the church. Fourth, we must read the flow of the age. There are times when we must evangelize with sophisticated culture, and times when we must evangelize by creating a medical team to aid the elderly in the countryside. Finally, we must do evangelism that gives all glory onto God (Romans 16:27). God is bound to work through the person and organization that does such evangelism.
